Don’t make a
driveway replacement 101
mistake!
The proof is in the estimate! First and foremost,
we urge you to get two or three estimates and compare what you see. Make
sure you are dealing with a professional company. As you already know,
not all driveway replacement is equal.
What to look for in
your Concrete Driveway Estimate prior to replacement.
1. Make sure there is a clear plan. Is the driveway
drawn out with all the details clearly marked?
2. Know what you are getting. The minimum depth of
a driveway should be clearly written on the estimate. The industry
standard is four inches. Furthermore, the compressive strength of the
concrete should be clearly written on the estimate. If it is not, ask
why. Most driveways today are constructed with 2500 psi concrete, we use
4000. Bottom line, the concrete we use is almost twice as strong as the
competitor.
3. Is it reinforced? Again, this should be clearly
written on the driveway estimate. If so, is it reinforced with steel or
fiber? There is a difference.
4. Was the estimate given in a professional and
timely manner and did they provide pictures of previous work? If not ask
yourself why. If they can’t handle a simple sales presentation I would
caution against trusting them with a complicated project.
5. How was the follow
up? Did they call you and offer references in your area? Answer any
questions? If there communication is lacking before you hire them
imagine what it will be like after you hire them.
